Daisy Lawn
My lawn was just mown
Its impeccably green
In velvety stripes
With soft dewy sheen
But I do miss my daisies
With their bright cheerful gleam
I love their small faces
That turn up to the sun
How they close up their petals
When at dusk day is done
White petals pink tipped
Surround hearts of gold
They bow their heads down
As the evening grows cold
So I’m not going to mow
My nice my daisy lawn
I’ll just let them all grow
I don’t want them all shorn
